The Paterek brother’s second ever restoration in 1977. Coupe Vin# 55673 Engine# 60906 is a numbers matching coupe per the COA and painted its original color of Aquamarine Blue Metallic with red interior.
It’s truly a special car with loads of documentation. We have a binder full of pictures of when the Paterek Brothers restored the car in the late 70′s and all the receipts from the restoration to the then owner Neil Stackhouse. The pictures show the all the pans on the car being completley replaced.
Subsequently, everything on the car is original (all the trim, deco strips, etc.) because there were no reproduction parts at the time. The car is stunning in its current condition and has the patina of car that is a non molested original. Also, the paint has held up superbly since the restoration and is a reminder that the body work was completed in a professional manner.
This 56 coupe was completely mechanically serviced by Stoddard in 2003 at a cost of $12,000. Where every operating system on the car was gone through and repaired. The Huffman Collection, where we purchased the car from also kept it in very tidy running order.
We just finished doing a complete top end on the engine. Where we replaced the heads, cylinders, and pistons as needed on a car with 98,000 miles on the clock.
As of now, this represents a very affordable way into a no excuses 356A coupe. One that is ready to be enjoyed for years to come.
