U. S. Army Serviceman Joe Buzzetta bought this competition Speedster from Glockler dealership in Frankfurt on July 7, 1959 while stationed nearby.  He raced the car extensively in Europe, coming to the attention of Porsche Competition Director Huschke von Hanstein.  Von Hanstein signed Joe to be a factory driver, initiating what would be an illustrious driving career for Joe that lasted through 1968.

This 1968 911 is truly a rare car.  1968 was the first year of production for the Sportomatic transmission and the last year of production for the short-wheelbase 911, thus making this car a low production example.
This Porsche has covered only 55,000 documented miles since new.  It carries several rare and desirable options, including a special order heated glass rear window, not publicly available until late 1968.

This rear windscreen was special ordered by a doctor in Munich and delivered in November, 1967, making it the earliest glass window Targa known.  Furthermore, the hood-mounted large Cibie fog lamps are also original to the car, unheard of in late 1967, and the hood still has the proper rubber-grommet holes into its support channel.

About 20 years ago, Don Emory repainted the car in 1967 Sea Green. (The car was originally Bahama Yellow.) The paint remains nearly flawless upon very close inspection.  The car runs and performs exceptionally, having been maintained by Chris Powell’s well-known shop in Bellevue, WA.  This 911 starts quickly when cold, idles evenly, and runs smoothly all the way up through the gears, to redline. The Sportomatic performs very well.  After driving this car I have finally figured out what the buzz was about and why many of the factory drivers had “Sportos.”  The transmission shifts seamlessly.  Simply drive it exactly as you would drive a Type 901 stick box and it will reward you with smooth shifts and flawless performance.  Over the years this Targa has been upgraded with some desirable Porsche optional accessories including through-the-grill fog lights, deep six-inch Fuchs, sport seats, and air conditioning.  Manuals, tools, and original brochures are included. This car is the best 1968 911 Targa we have seen and it is a truly a special car.

In January 1989 Porsche unveiled the new Type 964 Carrera 4 to the world, featuring Porsche’s new all-wheel-drive system. With eight years of intensive development and with fewer than twenty percent of the parts carried over from the previous-generation 911, the Carrera 4 was hailed by Road and Track as the best handling Porsche road car ever built. C. History:

Original college professor owner in Alba MI sold the car with 19,000 miles showing to a local lawyer in early 1980s.

About 18 months later, the lawyer advertised it for sale in AutoWeek and Don Fowler flew up to MI to see it. While in the air, literally, the lawyer sold the car to someone else.

About ten years later, so early 1990s, Don Fowler found car again at Weldon Scrogham’s shop with 26,000 miles on the clock. In the interim Weldon had bought and resold the car at least twice.

This Limited Edition 911SC was built in 1980 to honor the Porsche Motorsport team working in Weissach Germany. Only 408 Weissach limited edition models were produced and delivered the United States.

Half were painted Metallic Black, the other half in Platinum Metallic. The interior was full leather in Doric Grey with burgundy piping. Special 15  Fuch wheels were painted Platinum Metallic.

The Porsche Weissach Special edition (option M439) was an immdeiate collector’s car when released in 1980.

This special edition came standard with the following options: Passenger door mirror, power windows, power sunroof and locks, fog lights below the front bumper, air conditioning, electric external aerial, cruise control, heated power mirrors.

The Weissach coupes also came standard with a flexible chin on the front air dam and whale tail rear spoiler. This three owner Weissach has only 6,829 miles and has all original paint and interior as you would expect. It is near impossible to find a SC or Weissach Edition 911 in this kind of condition.

Here is a rare opportunity to acquire a 1959 fully documented Carrera 1600 GS. This is nicely documented car and features its numbers matching Four Cam engine (692/2 plain bearing motor# 93017). The closing panels are original as well and feature the last three digits of the vin on each of them.

This special 1959 Carrera GS came from the factory painted silver metallic (with red interior) and has been featured in two prominent US Porsche Collections over the years.
